Festival Lithuanian levity

What! You are going to see Romeo and Juliet - in Lithuanian?!  Such a typical reaction; but so weird. There'd be no such comment about attending an opera in German, Italian, French etc. So what's with this puzzlement about Shakespeare in Lithuanian?  Anyway, for the record, it was excellent - a memorable night of mayhem and merriment as well as throwing new light on the Bard - and on all those melogomaniac Montagues and Capulets. Apart from a bit of a slump soon after interval, it romped along at a cracking pace with superb staging (in two neighbouring pizza parlours) and first-rate acting. So much eternal meaning in a lump of dough and the sifting of flour.
